FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long does the process take?
Once we receive your information, we will review it and begin your application immediately. After submission, the consulate typically takes about 2 weeks to review the application, depending on their queue.
Once approved online, we will submit your passport to the consulate for visa issuance.
The total processing time is currently about 3 weeks.
(As of April 28, 2026)
2. Is expedited service available?
Visa-N-Beyond always processes your application as quickly as possible on our end. The consulate’s expedited service only shortens the final visa issuance step by approximately one business day after approval.
The consulate charges an additional $25 fee for this service.
3. Is a Chinese visa guaranteed with Visa-N-Beyond?
No. Visa approval is determined solely by the consulate. While we carefully review your application and provide professional guidance, approval is not guaranteed.
However, we do not charge our service fee if your visa is not approved.
4. Can I have my passport mailed to a different address after the visa is issued?
Yes, absolutely. We offer flexible shipping options. Please let us know your preferred delivery address at any time during the process—we’re happy to accommodate your request.
5. My trip is next week. Can I still get a visa in time?
As of April 28, 2026, it is not possible to obtain a Chinese visa within 7 business days.
We recommend exploring transit visa options, if applicable.
6. What if my passport is lost during shipping?
We recommend using FedEx, which has been highly reliable in our experience. However, shipping is handled by third-party carriers and is outside of our control.
If your passport is lost, we will assist you in any way we can. If the visa has already been issued and the passport is lost, the visa cannot be recovered, and a new application will be required.
In such cases, we will assist you with reapplying at no additional service fee.
7. How long is the visa valid?
U.S. Passport Holders:
If your passport has more than 12 months of remaining validity, you may be eligible for a 10-year multiple-entry visa.
This applies to tourist (L), business (M), family visit (Q/S), and talent (R) visas.
Canadian Passport Holders:
Visa validity is issued based on the remaining validity of your passport.
Other Nationalities:
Most visas are typically issued for up to 6 months with 1–2 entries, depending on the applicant’s nationality and consulate discretion.
8. Can I still use my visa if my passport has expired?
Yes. If your name has not changed, you may travel with both your old passport (with the valid visa) and your new passport. The visa remains valid as long as it has not expired.
